Niall Smyth and Surinder Sunar heads up in 2011 Irish Open

Irish Open Staff - 26 Apr 2011
They’re dropping like flies now! It had been around 4 hours between Aleksi Savela’s elimination and Seamus Cahill’s, and now, mere hands later, Martin Petri is gone!

Petri got his 1.515 million stack in against Surinder Sunar with Kh-Qh against Sunar’s Ah-9h. A flop of 8-T-A gave Sunar top pair, but also gave Petri a straight draw. He missed, however, on a turn and river of 2-2, and sent his chips to Sunar, who is now over 3 million.

After 10 hours of play, we’re heads-up! Here’s where our players stand in the paddypowerpoker.com Irish Open:

Surinder Sunar: 3.4 million
Niall Smyth: 8.8 million

Cards are in the air, here we go!
