Irish Open 2012 launches ahead of the world famous tournament.

Easter bunny Nadia Forde and former snooker world champion Ken Doherty were today on hand to launch the paddypowerpoker.com Irish Open 2012 which will take place in the Burlington Hotel, Dublin this Easter Bank Holiday weekend from Friday 6th – Monday 9th April 2012. 

The €3,500 buy-in poker tournament has an estimated total prize-pool of €2,000,000.

There are some legendary US poker players making their way to Dublin for the very first time to participate in the Open, including World Champions Carlos Mortensen and Phil Hellmuth and four time WSOP Bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu confirmed to attend.

Niall Smyth, the 27 year-old poker player from Ennis, Co Clare who spun a €10 each way bet on the horses into €650,000 when he won the event last year, will also be back this year in the hope of retaining his Irish Open Champion title. 

Other recognisable names confirmed to attend include former Snooker Champion Ken Doherty along with footballers Tony Cascarino and Teddy Sheringham.
